Three generations in Pondicherry
Our grandfather travelled to Pondicherry from Rajasthan and made it his home, and the generations that followed have stayed inspired by this singular city. We are a third-generation Pondicherrian family, travellers and entrepreneurs who built Ama La Vida to share the town we have always called home.
Many guests end up at our table, sharing a home-cooked dinner with the family in our house next door. It is the part of hosting we love most, and the reason a stay here feels less like a booking and more like an invitation.
Every apartment is named for a climb or a place that moved us, from the Inca Trail to the Uhuru peak of Kilimanjaro to Bhutan's Tiger's Nest. We host our guests the way we would like to be hosted: warmly, generously, and with every local secret worth knowing.
